Since its foundation in 1986 and with the artistic direction of Janet Way, the OFSS has become country's longest-running Flute Summer School. We provide tuition with some of the world's most respected flute players in an encouraging, tranquil environment.
Our international reputation attracts distinguished teachers from around the world. This year Kate Hill, Katherine Kemler and Robert Winn are our principal flautists, and Michael Cox, the principal flute of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, leads the Advanced Class programme.
Inspirational teaching through master classes, individual lessons and ensemble sessions; freedom to experiment and take risks in a non-competitive atmosphere; and the many opportunities to be challenged and share ideas are the hallmarks of our summer school. Whether you are 16 or 60, a young professional, an adult returning to the flute - or if you simply love playing - join us for a rewarding and galvanising week; you'll be amazed at the breadth of the programme we offer.
